A downloadable game

City Defense is a mash up of Missile Command and Space invaders (and maybe Tower Defense)

It is a 3D stationary shooter where the player controls turrets,  shoots down incoming missiles and ships

This is very much a learning project for me as I begin my game dev journey. My goal is to make fun games for my kids.

Congrats on releasing! Feedback:

  1. The download/install process might put some users off.

The file is in .exe and triggers a SmartScreen/Defender Warning.

  1. The audio stutters quite badly on my system.
  1. The camera was very far out on my system, and even cycling cameras I didn't find one I liked.

I like the core loop. The music helps set the mood. The visuals although basic do a good job of helping establish the setting.

Overall, It seems like it has the potential to be a nice game, keep working on it!

If you want more feedback in the future just DM me.

Best of Luck!

Thank you soooo much!

Audio, yes! :(  I know. I've been trying to use envelops and other meta sound things to figure out how to get that to stop. I'm assuming it has something to do with the number explosions that are happening at the same time. I'm going to figure it out.

For the field of view, I had a feeling that was going to happen. I have a 49in monitor and when I play, I couldn't see the city, so I adjusted the field of view. I'll need to figure out how to make that work so that the size of the screen doesn't matter.

For the music, I have several layered tracks using the same over arching theme. I thought it would be cool to turn on those layers as the waves progress or if the city sectors health is getting low to build suspense.

I'll research a better way to share the game so that folks are willing to download and play. I'm in cybersecurity (offensive cybersecurity), so I am fully aware of the hesitations.

I really really appreciate the feedback and I'm excited to keep going!
